Getting Tyrian up and running

Post by PhilC »

Hi all.

So I'm struggling a bit with getting Tyrian to run

I've downloaded the Raven port of OpenTyrian, have downloaded the data files and even the x86 be soon of the original game.

I'm presuming I copy the data files and OpenTyrian Raven files into the game directory and then run it? If I do that it mentions about having no cfh file etc

I'm using an LC060;at the mo if it makes a difference.

If I understand correctly, this version works great on my LC. You just need to add the DATA directory.

So I've tried the following:

created the tyrian directory
within that created a data directory and copied the datafile into that
copied the tyrian60.prg and tyrian00.prg into the tyrian directory
then in mint I click on tyrian60 and it opens a window which complains about the cfg file not being present, doesn't detect sound card then goes to a black OpenTyrian window and doesn't seem to do anything else.

What am I doing wrong guys? is it my graphics card or something else maybe?

These are the files present in the two versions that I tried and which work well.

@luciodra the top photo is the same as my directory.

Could you do me a favour please, to rule out an error I've made with copying, could you zip up the directory and pm me the zip?

@luciodra that also doesn't work for me, either by using a Mach32 or ET4000AX

This is as far as it gets

Okay, it doesn't like my Mach32 at all.

On the two ET4000 cards I have, the best I get using the T4 driver is this

It proves that my Tyrian installation should work as it does exactly the same
