Currently I have my STacy opened up, working on it. It has a
socketed CPU.
So...does PiSTorm require an STe or will it work in an ST also?
Is Mint required?
Will any Pi4 do or are there special requirements?
The Github page seems to indicate that the Pi3 variations now work,
as well as either 373 or 374 latches. Is that correct?

PiStorm works in both ST and STe
STe requires an adaptor board - DIL to PLCC
Mint is not required
Any Pi4 model B will work
Pi3A+ is shown to work
badwolf has shown that the latch type no longer matters
I have never seen a STacy in person, but from images, it seems compact. I very much doubt you could install a PiStorm and run it encased - but am happy to be told otherwise

What I meant is that motherboards with soldered CPU cannot host a pistorm (as well as any other kind of accelerator)

Besides @Badwolf PLCC PiSTorm board there is also Pistorm600 https://programatory.archi-tech.com.pl/ ... ga-600/268 with PLCC socket. I wonder whether it is ok for STE?

Unfortunately not - it's designed to sit atop of the 68k (Amiga 600 has the cpu soldered to board)

The easiest way to do this on an A500 would be to simply tie BGK to ground since no bus arb is needed to operate the computer. If the A600 is the same then I suspect this is what is happening here.
The ST uses bus arbitration extensively, so full bus arbitration would be required and it would be complicated (like I had to do on the DFB1) as you're effectively trying to usurp the CPU totally rather than just do a bit of DMA here and there.
If I had to guess, therefore, I'd guess the simple option were taken so it's unlikely to work on an STE with a soldered chip.
