Could you remove the (redundant) RF modulator and then route a HDMI cable out through the existing TV out hole?
I was thinking about (I'm not so keen on cutting cases), but the HDMI connector is too close to the case to route a cable...alexh wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 10:48 am Could you remove the (redundant) RF modulator and then route a HDMI cable out through the existing TV out hole?
I guess STe cases are probably not rare and so cutting one is probably not like cutting a TT030 or MegaSTe case which IMO would only devalue it.
Definitely something to feedback to Alan for any future batches.HigashiJun wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 11:24 am If the Monster bus connector was slightly further back, it would be feasible.

How would I connect it ?chronicthehedgehog wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 8:05 pm What about replacing the hdmi connector with a vertically mounted connector?

Yes, sorry I meant de-solder and replace. It's not something I'd attempt but you have the soldering skillsHigashiJun wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 9:38 pmHow would I connect it ?chronicthehedgehog wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 8:05 pm What about replacing the hdmi connector with a vertically mounted connector?
There is no room to plug anything between the HDMI connector and plastic case.
Or do you mean de-solder the horizontal one and replace it with a vertical one ?
Thanks for this clarification.chronicthehedgehog wrote: Wed May 13, 2026 10:40 pm Yes, sorry I meant de-solder and replace. It's not something I'd attempt but you have the soldering skills
EDIT:
assuming you can find something with the same footprint I suppose
