Trying to record some Amiga gameplay to my PC?
Hey. I hope someone can help me out. I'm trying to record some Amiga gameplay using a scart to hdmi converter and a usb to hdmi capture card. The sounds comes through great but the picture are not. The screen is grey and you can only very vaguely see the gameplay. Do anyone know what i'm doing wrong here ? Thanks

What are you using to do the recording? I use OBS and had similar issue recording game-play from my CD32 I would get sound sound only and a grey screen. I was using from a S-video to USB capture card. In OBS I had to set the video mode for the capture card to PAL. I'm it was defaulting to NTSC but my CD32 outputs PAL.

The SCART to HDMI is for RGB isn't it? Sounds like you might just be seeing composite sync on the composite video pin of the SCART and the converter is just using that. Many current SCART/HDMI adapters are only composite video, very few now do RGB as they're designed for video recorders.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

I'm using StreamLabs, and i have an Amiga 500. The thing is that the grey screen also appears on my TV screen when i'm using the scart to hdmi converter, and my TV switches to PAL automatically.32Bits wrote: 02 Sep 2022 20:05 What are you using to do the recording? I don't think its for RGB ? here's a link to the specsstephen_usher wrote: 02 Sep 2022 20:09 The SCART to HDMI is for RGB isn't it? Yeah, that's composite only. You'll have to use the Amiga's composite video output and audio and pass it to the SCART.

Ok if your getting the grey screen on the TV without the capture card then something is going on with the conversion from SCART to hdmi you need to be sure that the converter that supports RGB SCART.TheMadScientist wrote: 02 Sep 2022 20:25I'm using StreamLabs, and i have an Amiga 500. Re: Trying to record some Amiga gameplay to my PC?
Thanks a lot for clearing this up much appreciated. I think that i'd rather buy a new converter than passing the composite through the scart, as i don't have all the needed cables. What should i be on the look for when looking for a new scart/hdmi converter ?stephen_usher wrote: 02 Sep 2022 20:40 Yeah, that's composite only.
