Re: My TF536 build failure
Just a heads up, that's the same oscillator I got from digikey for both of my boards and they both work fine.
It's also the same one listed in the bom_TF536.csv file over on this thread

Re: My TF536 build failure
I was pretty sure I used that original CSV BOM when I did my digikey order. I guess either it's not delivered to spec, faulty or I've fitted it wrong.Lemaru wrote: 11 Sep 2020 21:49 Just a heads up, that's the same oscillator I got from digikey for both of my boards and they both work fine.

Do you have a photo to confirm orientation ?

The orientation looks OK with the dot on the oscillator nearest to the dot on the PCB.amimjf wrote: 12 Sep 2020 08:08I was pretty sure I used that original CSV BOM when I did my digikey order. If you ordered that oscillator and didn't specify a frequency for it during check-out, Digi-Key would supply it unprogrammed and it will not produce the expected output. The clue to look for is where it is shown as a 'Value added item' in the search results. On the actual product page under product attributes, there is a notification of 'Programmed by Digi-Key'.
Not sure why this oscillator is specified when there are loads of fixed-frequency ones that are suitable, removing another possible 'gotcha'.
This BoM is based on the original TF BoM, my working boards and feedback from others during their builds...

Ah crap sorry guys I didn't mean to cause all this confusion.
I checked the first part of the part number and noticed it was programmable and then after checked the full part number and it is indeed the correct part programmed to 100MHz.
It could still be at fault, but the part is correct.

Thanks all,..
From my order it links to "SIT8008BC-83-33E-100.000000T",.. that looks like its pre-programmed,.. unless i missed an obvious step during ordering.
Will grab a scope on Monday from the office.

Re: My TF536 build failure
Hi,
Using a scope I can see a waveform off pin3 of the oscillator, my scope only does 70mhz though.
Pin94 of the CPLD (CLKCPU), is showing at 50Mhz on the scope,.. it looks a bit weird, but i guess i've got it setup a bit wrong.
To my simple eyes that looks like the clock is not the issue.
What else could i check ?

Re: My TF536 build failure
DTACK (pin10 on 68k) is high
AS (pin on 68k) is high
030 is warm (not hot) to the touch, as is the CPLD.
030 does smell is bit, but i might just be bit over-sensitive.

AS (pin6 on 68k) now alive (at 1.7Mhz apparently)
DiagROM started Blue, then stuck on Red.

Re: My TF536 build failure
Pushed the 68k socket in firmly and got Cyan screen....
Illegal Instruction - Red/Cyan
What serial port does diagrom send its RS232 output on an A2000 ?
