TF536 Problems with Amiga and WHDLoad

Changing out the CPU for a known genuine ceramic RC50 OR RC33 and testing again would be my first port of call, but I appreciate not everyone has one of those lying around.

it's not socketed, and while i can tackle extremely small jobs, when it comes to this kinda thing, i wouldn't have a Scooby, the CPU had a label on top

Thanks for that big man, i have tried 4 different CF card to IDE adapters, stuff that works faultlessly for ages in other Amigas. I can setup an OS in UAE, and then try it on the TF536 Amiga and i just get a black screen, and that's with EVERY CF to IDE adapter. I was advised to install MMULibs, as this would cure all ills, no change at all, occasional crashing now, with the odd bit of graphic corruption, i don't know what the CPU was originally, but it's not a ceramic package, so could be anything.

This really looks a little bit like CPU doesn't like 50mhz.
Personally I didn't manage to get plastic 030 to work with my TF536.

It is newly available card and I think we all still learn how to build it and properly test it, so unfortunately this kind of situations are unavoidable.

Unfortunately your only option is to replace the CPU.

Out of 50 CPUs labeled ‘33 MHz’, I only got like 5 working with the 536 and that’s why I started shipping them with a gold RC40C instead. And even in this case out of 12 I initially bought, one wasn’t up to the task.

I have a ton of prebuilt cards... so that’s never a problem. The problem is that I am always waiting for CPU deliveries. Because I am never sure what kind of quality I am going to get I buy them in small batches and then end up waiting eternally.

Having said that I hope that I’ll get the next one in a week.

When he told you he soak tested it, what he meant was that he was soaked it in isopropyl for 6 hours :)

I know things happen, I will just send it back and get one `Soak tested` from Alen :)
