When running EmuTos with NVDI I've noticed a lot of system files...

Basically there's some sort of disk volume data generated when I insert my SD card into the PC which ends up on all 14 partitions. I can delete these on the Atari as Windows is not protecting them, but... as soon as I have to put the SD card back into the PC to transfer something, it does it again. I think this started after installing NVDI (could have started on EmuTos but not sure) I do know that this didn't happen before that. I could bounce back and forth with no system files adding themselves. Gonna be a bit of a pain deleting it 14 times and then seeing a program I want and having to go through it all again. I should be sleeping! :lol: :stars:

It's the usual windows 10 thing by the looks. I can format a floppy to 720k on Atari or Amiga and when its inserted into my pc it adds the system information folder. Delete it again on the atari and its back again next insert into the pc.

Yeah, delete Windows 10 and replace it with Linux in the flavour of your choice ;)

Haha. Interestingly I scrubbed it when I found out that my free upgrade was an online account which displayed my entire set up. All the programs installed on my PC were displayed on my microsoft account. So I used a program to grab my serial, created a USB installation disk and then created an offline installation and said no to everything but the basic logistics thing which there's no way around. Oh and my microsoft account is deleted. Other than discovering that high level of ridiculous snoopyness I've always found it a great OS. Also replaced the hard drive. I wouldn't recommend customer support though as my computer started getting hit with attacks even when I had no browser open. Kaspersky suspected it was ad/spyware, but it started on a technician remote access. A new hard drive made the problem go for sure! :lol:

It's all purring like a kitty now. Still...It can't do things my Atari can do! :cheer:

Yes definitiely some Windows sytem folders. If I remember correctly, the TOS desktop hides files that have the "system" file attribute set on them, whereas EmuTOS's desk ignores the attribute completely and happily shows them to the unexpecting user.

Any idea if that's changeable?

In Atari TOS 1.04, the TOS desktop hides any file or folder that has the Hidden and/or System attribute.
In Atari TOS 2.06, the TOS desktop hides any file with the Hidden, System, or Hidden+System attributes only. All other files (including e.g. Hidden files that are also Read-only), and all folders, are visible.

EmuTOS behaves the same as Atari TOS 2.06. It's not changeable by the user, at least ATM.

Thanks. Good to know as I thought something was wrong with my Atari until people made me realise It was windows system volume stuff from inserting the SD card.
