Pin1 is near FPU, NOT as marked on silkscreen

built it but just get a black screen on boot up and no response from diagram either
tested the 030 in a tf530 and it works ok there

A black screen can be caused by having the IDE cable on backwards. If you have yours on, try reversing it.

ide cable not connected, does it need to be?

also the caps lock key light lights up and switches on and off when you press it, even press ctrl A & A 'resets' it

I don't think the IDE needs to be on. Sounds like yours is off, so the black screen issue is being caused somewhere else.

oops the bus cpld was defective :oops:

now it boots into diagram but shows 16mb ram, if I do manual test it tests the 4mb without any errors

I think there is a bug in Diagrom with the RAM detection - mine shows more than 4 MB as well. I would put in a Kickstart ROM and try to boot it.

can get to 2.05 insert disk
but 3.1 rom wont work

booted into wb3.1 and then ran Frontier, this shows some glitches and the crashes after about 30secs

cant test ide as I cant find my cable !!!
