My Dolphin uses light grey backgrounds. If brightness is too high on the monitor then it shows as white anyway. But looking at the screen all day I really did not like having pure white because it hurts my eyes after a while hence toning it down in my theme in all places. The only problem is with the grey background on the left box is that the icons look a little bit washed out. So I'm not sure if to make that basically off white or not currently..

Had a right old time getting auto detect to work as when I plug in a floppy USB stick or CD-ROM I wanted to update the information automatically as Windows does. That was a whole load of drama by itself but it now seems to be working correctly and automatically.

Winamp was a pain to get midi working

Anyway..

https://github.com/exxosuk/wincupl-mx-linux

WinCUPL 5.30.4 installer for Linux.

Theres a more recent version which installs easier.. But one look after it loaded and I thought nope.. Seemes they changed from VB6 to dot net. Food they still support the software but my pet hate is messing with the GUI. So built a installer.

Its gotten more complicated since amd and Intel need different stuff installing it seems.

My theme dolphin installer failed bad on my older laptop. So working though the fixes. Seems Claude "forgot" half the updates so what was pushed to github was broken.

I think past getting MX to be more userfriendly for basic stuff, it's tuning into another unpaid full-time job again. I'd have the same work updating windows if I went down that route again anyway. It's why I just gave up keep updating stuff. By the time I get everything working everything moves on anyway. Everything be perpetually broken and I'd never get anything done.

I may try to get eagle to work in MX. Maybe it work better than in windows. Kinda sucks as it be cool to push a installer for Linux but they abandoned eagle so nowhere to download it from anymore. They probably don't care about hobby use anymore anyway.

My email is another sticking point. What are the chances of Thunderbird being compatible between Linux and windows to share the mailboxes.. Not simple to work though all these problems when I have 20+ years of stuff on my drive.
