I don't have any specific naked computers but could make up a Beeb or C128 with what I have here. Does that count!
I could bring a Macintosh plus that was released in 1986?

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

This is a comprehensive but not sure if complete timeline of events in 1986 around computers - https://www.islandnet.com/~kpolsson/com ... mp1986.htm
I didn't realise 68030 came out in 1986.

One idea for a theme could be 'boosted' / 'enhanced' machines. Could also be a competition for most boosted machine. But I imagine might be hard to judge as all systems are so different.

My 8bit Atari's would be good for that, lots of nice stuff inside, though slightly iffy wiring in some cases...Steve wrote: 05 May 2026 16:10 One idea for a theme could be 'boosted' / 'enhanced' machines. Hmm... I may have an old breadbin that fits the bill here too. 8-)rubber_jonnie wrote: 05 May 2026 16:52My 8bit Atari's would be good for that, lots of nice stuff inside, though slightly iffy wiring in some cases...Steve wrote: 05 May 2026 16:10 One idea for a theme could be 'boosted' / 'enhanced' machines. Maybe we need to have a whetstone test duel like the PCs of old.
Actually, with all the FPGA gear in some of the 8-bits nowadays, you could probably outcalculate the 68030.

Toastrack was released! :cheer:mrbombermillzy wrote: 04 May 2026 19:45 Ive just realized, the C64C was released in '86, but thats not really a 'theme', and calling it a 'new computer' is a bit of a stretch.
Then Amstrad bought out Sinclair. :shite:
