Oooh, that's awesome :)
I've been using one of those shields where you manually cut out from a grid but would absolutely love to have a real one like that!

If it's from the template that was on github I half expect you may need to make further adjustments and possibly a second rev after test-fitting the first one. (I just measured by hand and doubt I was lucky enough to get it exactly right on the first try)

It's a little thing but this finishes the casing of the Raven. Not bad for a first attempt with merging the STL files. Fits fine around the ports (well done @agranlund ). Maybe a bit loose in the ATX IO hole, but I am happy with the outcome.

I merged in the pull request.

For someone like me which is completely clueless when it comes to 3d printing, are STL files completely self contained in that I can just send it to someone or some company and they would automatically know what to do with it?

Yes, an STL is all that they need to print.

I am no expert with 3D stuff and still learning to use Blender so very happy that this worked first attempt.

The ones I had printed, were with PLA +, 0.1mm with 20% Infill

@kodak80 , I tried ordering the piece from JLCPCB but they wouldn't accept it because of this:
2)File errors are detected (broken facets, bad edges and bad contours), which will result in printing failure and damage of the part.
These errors occurred because there might be some accuracy algorithms difference of converting different format files between the different software or some hidden surfaces had not been deleted yet when drawing the structural surfaces.
I have no idea about any of this so I figure I'll instead check if someone at work has a printer and could be bribed into printing that file for me.

The local 3D print company I used, had a repaired version on my STL they generated, so assume this was used by them to complete processing my order. You could try this version with JLCPCB. Both the original STL and the repaired STL still have the wording for the connectors which did not show on the ones I had printed. The repaired2 copy below has the wording removed and was auto-fixed using the Autodesk Meshmixer tool.

EDIT: JLCPCB would not process the updated STL files so I have removed these. My recommendation is to use the original one in Github and a local print company or your own printer.

Edit2: PCBWAY will process the Github STL file. Unfortunately, their payment options no longer include PayPal so will not be using them.
