It looks like everthing is ok! Of course, I'll have to wait for the RAM test to finish to be sure but so far, so good.

I wasn't saying don't do it ever, I'm saying don't do it before you've tested the upgrade.

I'm extra happy it worked out because I live in The Netherlands and I had to order the upgrade kit via my sister's address - she lives in Germany - because that's the only EU country that the Exxos Store ships to these days.

Oh no :o

I've desoldered all old RAM chips and now my machine won't hoot anymore...

I've checked the memory pcb and refitted the flat cable and I also checked the holes where the RAM used to be for shorts.

The blue dots in the top half of the screen do flicker and the bombs are showing some flashing.

First off you need to check for shorts around all the old RAM locations, you may have got a solder bridge somewhere.
