The IDE buffers should be fine. It's the 4 next to the CPU which got fitted wrong originally. Those stop TTram from working.PhilC wrote: 10 May 2025 17:03 They sound correct to meant near my STe at the moment, so going from memory. If you are able to access the IDE but not boot from it then in sounds like the buffers are working but you don't have the driver installed on the C drive. I've been using mine with the BBAN HDD, so not got round to testing IDE much but it did work fine in Emutos for all of the five minutes I used it.

100% certain on compatibility and not byteswapped. I usually go with 500mb partitions...I'll try 256mb, but haven't had issues with 500mb in the past.

Odd if EMUTOS boots from IDE though :shrug:coonsgm wrote: 10 May 2025 17:42 100% certain on compatibility and not byteswapped. I usually go with 500mb partitions...I'll try 256mb, but haven't had issues with 500mb in the past.
I've been booting IDE with EMUTOS for a while during testing... Not tried TOS yet.
What happens if you boot HDDRIVER from floppy ? Does it find the IDE then ?

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
The IDE is found every time. When booting HDdriver from floppy OR from ACSI (Ultrasatan), it also recognizes the IDE hard drive just fine. I can copy data back and forth, but it simply won't initialize HDDriver.sys from the IDE hard drive.
In the case of EmuTOS, it recognizes the IDE hard drive partitions just fine, but will not load the Auto directory on the C drive either for a non-byteswapped ST "bootable" hard drive partition.
If I just use a simple FAT partition EmuTOS or an ST "bootable" non-byteswapped partition from ACSI it works fine.

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
Current4 has the IDE boot enabled. I mistakenly labeled it as ACSI auto boot.
The same code was in the ST536 , so it should work unless I've taken something else our related while debugging...

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
Just reflashed to current4 and still having the same issue. With HDDriver partitions for "ST booting" and driver installed on drive C, the IDE drives are recognized if the HDDriver.prg or .sys is loaded from floppy or the ACSI drive.exxos wrote: 11 May 2025 01:11 Current4 has the IDE boot enabled. If booted with only the IDE drive (partitioned and with HDDriver.sys installed on C) no drives are recognized. This is with 3 known previously compatible CF cards and starting from them fully cleaned prior to partitioning.
Again, running with EmuTOS, the ST structured partitions while recognized, will not execute programs from an auto folder. If using byteswapped Windows compatible partitions, EmuTOS works as is typical.

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
From what I could tell from the code snippets I posted into the AI a couple days back, it looks like I a might have disabled part of the auto boot code and did not put it back fully, I should be able to sort that out later tonight when I get back home..

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
Uploaded "current5.jed" which fixes IDE autoboot. Though on mine it locks up after loading the driver... Needs others to confirm that's the case...
EDIT:
I repartitioned the IDE drive , reinstalled the driver and seems fine now....

Fixed mine! Working wonderfully on mine in both EmuTOS and TOS 2.06 with HDDriver partitions and HDDriver.sys
