It's great :) Thank you.
You're most welcome.

I still have 2 more A500s and the A500+ to work through at some point... maybe selling another one would provide the funds for a similar upgrade to yours...
 ;)

I have to say that the 8MB + IDE adapter is a neat little upgrade. I think half my issues were CF/Adapter/cable related not to mention the bloody 'working' RAM card being faulty.

OK, so I have a Gotek internal solution coming, if it works out, the same people do one for the A1200 so I will probably pick one up for that too.

I've also got some spare standard Goteks on the way, so I shouldn't have to keep borrowing Goteks when I need them any more.

I'll add that to my "one day" list - I have a couple of SD to IDE adaptors already, so might save myself some pain.

Re the Gotek you've ordered : I've also dug out a Gotek with display & rotary encoder to try on the A500...if I can work out how to select anything other than Speedball 2 on it! ;)
I'll be interested to see how your solution pans out - the display & encoder might make it a fiddly internal fit on the A500 (compared to the ST)

Well it's an all in one solution, A500 Gotek, once it arrives I'll post more about it.

Not sure I'm super keen on the way the display and encoder is mounted, but I'm prepared to give it a go.

OK, so my Gotek solution was out for delivery yesterday, until it wasn't...

Supposedly it'll be here today, at least the tracking has updated!

The wait is always frustrating if you want to play with your new toys

Hmm, you have to wait for this one too...

I understand how frustrating it is.
