Toddington is only a couple of miles from the first venue, but has a larger car park and closer to the M1.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

There is a Toddington near the M1 but the village hall link you posted said they are near Cheltenham!stephen_usher wrote: 12 Mar 2024 23:16 Toddington is only a couple of miles from the first venue, but has a larger car park and closer to the M1.

Re: Cyber Legends V3.0 ?? Any takers?
Ive just looked at the 'correct' Toddington Hall and their website...
The fees seem more reasonable (£20 p/h 9-6pm, £30 p/h 6pm>) and it appears from an initial look at their hiring T&Cs that they do not require a deposit. However, I will have to fully investigate before getting too excited.
Anyhow, the website seems to require a Flash update (ugh!), which it cant seem to process, (well, on my browsing HW/SW combo anyway) before it lets me see any pictures of the inside of the hall.
So Ive grabbed some images from a search:
And it seems to be a stone throw away from the last hall (Chalgrave), although its in more of a residential area here. (By the looks of the street map when I was taking pictures, it doesnt seem to be a run down problem area).
So access from the M1 is slightly nearer and finding the hall pretty simple:
Ok, I will now make enquiries as to hall date availability, what the PA system comprises of (which is an extra £15 to hire) and how many tables/chairs they have. (It seems they have a stage too).
In the meantime, I will ask again, does anyone have any preferential dates/times and opening hours? (Im thinking this time no one should have to be driving back in the dark).
With that in mind, perhaps an earlier event time, closer to the summer solstice (for max daylight hours). e.g.:
Sunday 30th June Entry 11-5pm (general public) 10-6pm (exhibitors)
Any thoughts?

Re: Cyber Legends V3.0 ?? Any takers?
The times sound better. It allows people time to drive down without having to get up too early and time to drive back before normal bed time.
Having grown up only about 10 miles from Toddington (just north of Ampthill) I was just searching the area for village halls which had parking. Stewartby was big but no parking, no go for Woburn etc. etc. and Toddington looked the best.
I did look at the village hall in the village I grew up in, Houghton Conquest, but they didn't give rates and it would be more difficult for Exxos to find. They do have a nice car park though and I know a bit about it, having seen it being built in 1975 after the burned down Tudor arms houses were demolished... and there's the village shop almost next door. :-)

The toddington hall sounds interesting but I'm unable to access the photos too thanks to the flash thing.
I'd. be happier for earlier in the year too and this time for a Saturday night.

As for which day to hold the event...
Again, Im trying to reach the highest target audience here and I have made the assumption that generally more people are at work on a Saturday than on a Sunday, hence suggesting a Sunday. Also, when you say 'Saturday night', are you actually suggesting that you would prefer evening timings?
Currently waiting for a call back from the hall staff... :waiting:

Maybe he's just a Whigfield fan. (Yes, "Saturday night" is now 30 years old, can you believe it?!)mrbombermillzy wrote: 13 Mar 2024 10:14 Again, Im trying to reach the highest target audience here and I have made the assumption that generally more people are at work on a Saturday than on a Sunday, hence suggesting a Sunday.
