OMG - sorry to hear, are you sure you want to scarify your own?
I will fully understand if you keep yours happy and I own you anyway!

It's fine, I can easily fix the broken pin, but it'll take a little time and I rather get your machine back to you.

I'm sure I'll probably end up with another XL or XE for parts at some point so it's not an issue for me.

Plus it's be a bit of a bind if the pin/solder broke in transit, you'd be in an equally bad position.

So yeah, don't worry about it, it's all good.

Don't worry about sending me another @PhilC I can fix the one you sent and use it for my 600XL, I just need to file back the chip casing a bit to expose enough metal for a strong solder joint.

I'd just rather not send a potentially fragile solder joint through the post.

It's all good.

BTW @mgi may I keep the faulty one? It's of interest to me.

@rubber_jonnie fair enough, I was thinking maybe Dremel the top casing a little so you have more surface area of the pin showing?

Whilst I was looking I did find 3 Pokeys. I can't remember where they came from but looks like I've got some stereo upgrading to do :D

If you have a 7800, you can use one of those Pokeys in a Concerto SD cart. There aren't many games that use it, but it does add flavour to those that do :)

I actually just installed in my 600XL after a little filing on the corner and did this:

So it is pretty strong now.

Then I conformal coated it to prevent oxidation on the exposed part of the leg and zapped it with UV to harden:

All works fine :)

I'll still send you the one from my 600XL to be 100% sure it'll arrive in one piece.

I'm sure you'll see Phil, but I doubt I'll make it, it's just a bit too far for a day trip :(
