@Badwolf
Off the top of your head, do you know the current draw from the 3.6Vcc components of the design?
Bit above my pay grade on the design, do you use a voltage regular off 5Vcc as a source?
PS from another source uses the 3.6Vcc load to maintain 5Vcc regulation. Forgot what current they said was require, wasn't much.
If sufficient, could utilize one of the compact design PS, remove the 5V PS from normal position and relocate the expansion board back in the case, reason for asking.

Re: DFB1 based-design clone
I have ordered few 68030 to different sellers and I have received exactly the same part.
It looks to be a Freescale version using the mask 0D46C (not 04D66C) instead of 1F91C
Does someone has already used this one?
What I have expected to receive:

Thank you! :)

A discussion to look over at
https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=24400
If you dig around some more, believe there's a thread where a user states they finally did replace the Falcon CPU with the standard MOT P/N and it worked.

Sure, but my topic is not related to the Falcon CPU replacement. I just ask if someone has already used this CPU/Mask :)

Re: DFB1 based-design clone
Awe, you already know this will work, just inquiring about the mask.
Well, not something you are likely to find in the Atari world. Most replacement CPU have traditionally been PGA. Only time I've seen discussion is contained in the provided link.
If you find the user that did manage to replace the Falcon CPU, recall a photo, and perhaps it's the same mask you are inquiring about. That would support your idea.

Re: DFB1 based-design clone
In fact, I have already watched many topics from computers, Falcon replacement CPU too, many pictures from IC reseller, I have never seen it. When I test the continuity, they are some pinss linked that I think should not. The last seller show me this picture.

Re: DFB1 based-design clone
If they genuine freescale then they should really be one of the later masks. But if you plan on 33MHz then does mask really matter anyway ?

I don't plan to go over 33MHz, but I would like to be sure it will not run to 0MHz. :lol:exxos wrote: 07 May 2023 10:21 If they genuine freescale then they should really be one of the later masks. But if you plan on 33MHz then does mask really matter anyway ?
What I think, they are 04D66C like most of the FE IC, but the number was reduced to match Freescale 5 characters.

Re: DFB1 based-design clone
It's always the same problem with china stuff. Never know what's genuine. I think you just have to assume the worst all the time :( sadly the only known source which will be legit is BEST Electronics. Of course crazy prices
