Checking in....

Post by KrazyK »

A brief history of time....
Back in the mid 80s I played on my mate Alan's ST for the first time and it wasn't long before I persuaded my folks to let me have my first STFM.
What they didn't tell me was that they bought it and I had to pay them back for it !
A year later I had paid it back and was regularly going to various swapping meets where I met members of different cracking groups who would bring there latest code and cracks to swap and show off. I did a lot of playing, how I miss playing Carrier Command, Gunship, F19, Dungeon Mater etc, etc.
Lots of swapping of disks happened over the next few years and then got into using GFA then Stos.
Swapped and shared lots of code on Stosser disk, by post on floppy disk. Tell kids that now and they wouldn't believe you! :-)
Eventually got into 68000 and did a bit of cracking/training but like a lot of people when PCs came along sold up and bought a PC.
Many, many years passed and emulators started to arrive for Windows which sparked my interest yet again.
So with the help of STeem I got back to ripping and coding and have now re-made lots of cracktro and demo screens for Windows.
I'm always looking for new screens to remake so if anyone has a cracktro in mind that they would like to see re-made for windows then PM me.
I discovered this forum recently and got in touch with Exxos who has been testing one of my apps for replaying and converting chip music.
It started as a personal project but has escalated a bit having noticed that there may be interest in this.
There's a mini player and a larger player/converter. Supports drag & drop etc.
At present it plays the following formats: ym, ay, pt3, psg, vtx, aks, sks, 128, wyz, vt2, sndh, snd, mus, mod, m15, stk, nst
It can convert all (except mods) to SNDH v2.2. There's also an export to WAV/FLAC. Here are a few screenshots. I will post in in the correct forum later today.
It's still a test project so will need some help to make it better, fix bugs etc. if anyone is willing to give it try.
Until then.....
