I have a 1200 with a pistorm in it, whilst it is good and does the job it smells too much like emulation to me. (I was told when asked how to stop all the other nonsense " If you dont want the other stuff you're not going to fully appreciate your amiga")
Looking at the 1260 cards and there seems to be multiple options, I want a card that runs faster than stock 040-050 sort of speed ( maybe quicker) and memory upgrades. What is the difference between the many variants
Cheers

Re: 1260 variants
Are you asking about 68060 CPU variants? I was not aware of any TF1260 variants...

Re: 1260 variants
I was on the amigapassion shop i think and they were selling them with different cpu options, but MR goose on the ebay sells one type with a cpu. Its just a bit confusing to an old fart. Amiga passion said they are discontinued so this ebay seller will be where i buy mine from on payday so i dont want to choose the wrong one

Okay, so you are looking for CPU variant explanations, you'll simply find them here on Wikipedia:pobolycwm wrote: 17 Jun 2026 09:15 I was on the amigapassion shop i think and they were selling them with different cpu options, but MR goose on the ebay sells one type with a cpu. In terms of Amiga functionality for software, a 'full' 68060 has an FPU and MMU, an 'LC' has no FPU, and 'EC' has neither FPU or MMU. I've read that all three will work in a TF1260, but the 'EC' type will basically be treated like a fast 030 CPU. I think most people either go for LC or Full, to get more speed and 060 features. I might need an Amiga expert to clarify this...

Re: 1260 variants
Retropassion is not an authorised seller. Infact i have asked him to stop selling all my products because of the way he treated some of my friends.
Do not by TF cards from Retropassion i will refuse all support.

Official cards are sold through Amibay only, and you can chose what CPU (or none at all) you want with them.

Re: 1260 variants
So after some reading up the variants if I read correctly are whether the cpu has a mmu or fpu or both hence the price difference.
I have mr go0se saved on ebay ready for when my funds are enough (possibly after my treatment is finished in august)
If I buy the basic 1260 card will I be missing much over the fpu/mmu cards

Re: 1260 variants
Pretty much every 060 has the MMU, I don't think I've ever encountered one without it yet. The FPU is really used only if you want to play PC game ports like Quake or some demos. Otherwise, with SoftIEEE installed you most likely won't notice any difference with other software. You can always replace the LC060 with a full CPU later.pobolycwm wrote: 20 Jun 2026 12:17 So after some reading up the variants if I read correctly are whether the cpu has a mmu or fpu or both hence the price difference.
