This all reminds me of the early days of the evil Bay !( Or maybe still happens I have no idea) of receiving empty boxes scams!
Girlfriend ordered from "Papaval Retail Limited" on temu. All that was received was a empty box! She did check the seller rating originally before ordering and it was 4.8 out of 5 starts, which is generally a good indicator.
The reviews tell of a similar story... As it has happened to lots of other people as well..
And her review...
She ordered eight pot noodles and the box is barely big enough to even fit one inside of never mind 8 ! As soon as the box come she handed it to me to check and I said this box is empty and to video on doing it and take pictures of the tracking number as proof we have not tampered with it..
She has now spent all day arguing with TEMU who basically refused to give her a refund because the package had been delivered !!! She expected better from TEMU and now she is issuing a chargeback with her bank and going down that route.
It was obviously a total scam. Even the box claimed 800g weight.. How you can fit almost a kilogram of weight into a empty box is questionable by itself!
This all reminds me of my trials and tribulations on evil bay, where there is no real person to actually look at these cases properly.
The seller also sells on Amazon where people are having the same problems

https://www.papaval.com/
So basically don't order from TEMU or Papaval Retail Limited, as you have zero rights or help when something goes wrong like this !
Like most things these days, even when you have solid proof you are in the right, it counts for nothing these days with these companies !

Looking at some of the products people have been buying surprises me, there's no way I'd ever buy foodstuff's from some far east dodgy place like Temu... someone bought a box of cadbury mini eggs? Why not to to tesco? lol

I hope you get your money back. Fortunately all my Temu purchases (and there are thousands of them) have been successful but I have never bought food goods.
Temu now tops google searches for lots of consumer goods on price. If you don't know who they are, or you're just wanting the lowest price you will be enticed. Same goes for other similar companies like OnBuySteve wrote: 10 Apr 2026 11:32 Looking at some of the products people have been buying surprises me, there's no way I'd ever buy foodstuff's from some far east dodgy place like Temu... someone bought a box of cadbury mini eggs? So yeah. Not interested until bank gets involved. Looks like she will get her money back eventually. It's not a huge amount but she doesn't have money to throw away either.
I always love it they say "valued customer", so valued they don't even put her name in.

Re: TEMU Empty box scam – buyers beware!
She finally got her money back by the chargeback on her bank
We looked at some more recent reviews and they'll still shipping empty boxes. Sometimes they will ship a stick of chewing gum instead of £30 worth of items. Some people are buying crisps on the boxes ripped open and a couple of packets or missing..
I did wonder if they simply have a bad member of staff doing this but surely going by all the complaints they would have noticed by now  it seems to be getting worse nonetheless and has been going on for some time.

Re: TEMU / papaval Empty box scam – buyers beware!
papaval.com still ongoing with the scams...
Girlfriend thought it was a "joke" that she got a advert in a app for that company as well !
Odd thing about papaval, they seem to have multiple sales platforms, not just TEMU and their own site. But why only scam on *some* items.. Maybe they have enough sales that the "flood" of scams stops them from losing to much ratings... Either Way, it should have been dealt with months ago.. but they keep getting away with it all.. somehow..
Also reminds me of when I got banned off paypal and ebay, I do nothing wrong, perm-ban, and yet other companies can run so badly with scams that nobody seems to even care !

A robotic pick & pack warehouse system that sometimes screws up? Terrible customer service due to the sheer volume of orders?

Would seem unlikely since some people have had rocks wrapped in sweet papers.alexh wrote: 28 Apr 2026 19:09 A robotic pick & pack warehouse system that sometimes screws up? Terrible customer service due to the sheer volume of orders?

In that case maybe Leicestershire trading standards may be interested.
