What are you bringing to Cyber Legends 5?

The planning for CL5 is well underway now, with plans to be made for Short Seminars, competitions, raffle prizes etc.

So whilst we plan the event, what are you planning to bring along with you? Last year had music theme, what do you think we should do this year?

I've had a few new additions to my retro computer collections over the last twelve months, so I'm just wondering whether I should bring one of those or one of my older items. What to bring? 8 bit? 16 bit? or even 32 bit are more than possible. I do have a soft spot for 8 bit machines though. It might be an Acorn Atom, Memotech MTX or even a Camputers Lynx......

So for me I'm thinking the Cosmac Elf II (If it works!!!) and the OSI 600D that I brought last year but died on the day, the Science of Cambridge MK14 and probably the Atom replica.

So basically machines that run but which are just a bare board

I might bring my naked 800 to show off the clock replacement board. It does both the main system clock and the colour burst clock.

With the event about a month away I've been thinking about what to bring.

I thought I'd bring my TT so I can show it running Atari UNIX, Debian Linux and NetBSD and compare the speed and usefulness. I can also show my cartridge port ringing stopper card and hence Spectre GCR and NetUSBee working. I thought about this after seeing the posts about someone trying to get A/UX running on a Falcon. A/UX and Atari UNIX are both written by Coherent and should be based upon the same code base.

In addition I'll bring to two 8 bit systems I've been posting about this year, the Camputers Lynx recreation and the Enterprise 64 with floppy interface.

That should be enough.

Joking aside I've not decided exactly what I'm going to bring yet. I do like to bring some of my newer stuff but think we'll be well catered for with Stephens Enterprise and Lynx that I won't need to bring mine.

I've fixed a couple of old PCs lately, so might bring the Compaq Portable III or the 4/25C LTE.

I'm getting a lift from a mate of mine now, so should be coming along in a van, in case anyone wants anything. This time I'll be trying to leave with less than I brought with me.

Did you know there was a connection between Atari scene and Enterprise 64?

James "SainT" Boulton aka RetroHQ wrote the first (only?) Enterprise emulator in the 90s. He was mad for Atari and wrote demos and the SainT STe emulator. (Plus the Lynx, Jaguar and 7800 flash cartridges)
