DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Hello from Sunny! Lancashire

Post by AtariCrypt »

Hello everyone, I've been here a while (well, kinda on/off) but I don't think I've actually posted in this section!! For those who don't know, I'm Steve from Lancashire, England. And I run a crappy little-known ST games website called AtariCrypt for over a decade now.

I have here an Atari STe on my *tiny* desktop besides my Mac. Use it daily, but I'm no coder/artist/musician/etc... Can't do any of that stuff! Love using my Atari for all the fun things in life, although I have been known to be creative at times (check out the "About Me" on my site lol). Hey, all free to download and all rather naff...

Big hi to Chris - I still have the poster, mate!!

Weirdly, I hope to buy a Mega ST soon (prob off eBay!) as I've wanted one of them since the early 90s when I had the Mega 1 ST (used that for DTP, college, and ofc games /etc). Sadly, even when young and pre-mortgage/kids, I couldn't afford the Mega2/4... Recently, I bought a Megafile 30, so I'm eager to get that running with my Mega. No idea why, just am.

I use ParCP to copy files between the Mac and Atari. Really great program, and I use floppies almost daily. Much prefer a menu disk to using the Ultrasatan (for games, I mean). Yep, it's 1990 here in this corner of my bedroom!

Basically, I use my ST daily, and the wife/daughter thinks I'm insane using this old junk. Yeah, I'd leave 'em if I could lol

Righto... I've bored you all enough!!
Thanks for reading, and I hope to contribute more to this excellent forum :)

Hello Steve,

I too am originally from Sunny Lancashire (Preston). Back in the day Lancashire was a hive of activity for the Atari ST scene. The demo/pd team Adrenalin UK were based in Lancashire, compact disk compilation team Safari and lots of others.

I've followed your website for a long time. Welcome.

Ahhh Preston, only been the once if I'm honest (Spoons visit!). I met quite a few people bitd but oddly no one from Lancs... Safari rings a bell, but dammit I can't remember why! I'll have to check out their disks now, because I remember getting mentioned in a group's greetings (that made my day lol), but it's something I've tried to remember over the decades, but cannot. I'm sure they were from Devon or somewhere in that area... ahh, the old brain fogs over, but now I'm looking forward to going through them - thanks:)
