DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

NetUSBee not workling with TT

Post by zfrenchy »

I have 3 NetUSBee card, all three are working with a STE or Falcon, but not one is working with the TT.

On DHCP, the cursor is blinking and not IP address appear.
On STATIC, the IP is 192.168.1.90, I cannot ping or see anything with a webrowser.

I am using uIPTool 3.10, is there a newer version ?

Not that I know of. It's unlikely to help anyway as it seems that it's a hardware incompatibility.

Having said that, with my filter card the ne2knec.xif driver for MiNT, which is closed source, somehow works properly. Without seeing what the code is actually doing it's impossible to understand how it's managing to work.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

There is a known hardware bug with Netusbee and 030 Ataris like Falcon and TT. It has since been confirmed and rectified by Lothratek who produces all new Netusbees with the fix.

I fixed the reset bug on the NetUSBee and it works fine on the Falcon030.

I found the lastest version of UIPttol, v385, but still not able to connect with the TT.
https://github.com/czietz/uip-tools-mir ... tag/latest

Still no issue with the Falcon or the STE.

Please note, the TT boot of TOS, no HDD, meant is a clean boot.

everywhere I looked, they always said NetUSBee is compatible TT, but I think they are talking for the USB, not the Ethernet port.

Neither will work on many TTs... As my investigations show it's a timing issue at the TT end, seemingly reading the data bus before the chips in the NetUSBee have put the data onto the bus.

That's once you've cleaned up the ringing address lines.

ok.

what my option to transfer files from a PC to a TT/falcon/STE now ?

I looked at CosmoEX, but not anymore produce, sad it was a very good board !

I don't want jongle with floppy disk, because of the small capacity of the media, ultrasatan is an option, but still need media manipulation, Gotek is even worst suporting only floppy images.

For the TT I use an internally fitted Lightning USB board and an Apple USB Ethernet dongle. Many other USB Ethernet dongles also work.

My NetUSBee-Lite works fine on all my other machines, including the Falcon030.
