DO NOT USE DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time it is unfortunately not possible to white list users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

The out of 2025 and into 2026 project list...

Post by rubber_jonnie »

So this was my project list from 2024-2025:

  1. I need to build my OSI 610 expansion board. It'll take me up to 32K of ram and give my OSI 600D the option to use floppies with the addition of a data separator board. That will put Goteks on the table. The tape interface is a bit crude. Trouble is it's a big build so I keep putting it off!! I've managed to find the FDD data separator board on PCBWay, but it's not cheap, so this might cause more delays.UPDATE - The data separator boards are on order, less than £30 for 5 so I will have some to sell as I only need 1. The price was originally showing as £61, but as soon as it was approved, the price dropped to less than £5, shipping making up the rest 😮
  2. Finish my SoC MK14 cassette interface board. This I think will be next, since the board is built and all I need to do is wire it up to the edge connector. I want this done in the next few weeks as it's daft not to finish it when I'm so close. EDIT - Completed and I'm now messing around with handmade PCB's
  3. Build my Cosmac Elf replica. It's a great board as it has a very good silk screen that includes component values, so it's essentially it's own BoM, and I think this may be next after the MK14. My build box is coming along nicely, I have all the sockets and a lot of the other parts, so this is looking positive
  4. Properly look at my Epson HX20. It seems to have a power issue (It's an oddity, the PSU only charges the battery, it doesn't power the computer) and sometimes comes on, but it's such a unique machine I have to get it going again.
  5. Take another look at the PS4 I have with no HDMI out. I have a donor board to hand that is very dead, so I think it is fixable since it does boot to a white light. Low priority this though as I do have a working PS4.
  6. Build another Switch Lite from the hopefully good board I have that I knocked a bunch of components off, and a donor board. This should be relatively simple provided I don't sneeze again and knock tiny components everywhere... I have a new screen, case and battery for this so it's just getting the mainboard sorted and assembling.
  7. Finish off the Arche laptop project. this is very close. The HDD is working and I can pull the CF card at any time to install more software if I want. The FDD side of things is frustrating, but not the end of the world, and that leaves the display and keyboard ribbon that are not major issues.
  8. Build a Colecovison Megacart. This uses pretty standard components so should be a quick build, but I'll need to order the PCBs at the end of the month when I get back from my holiday.EDIT - Done and works great. I will probably build another 4 carts to sell. I have 2 carts for sale at present
  9. Build a PiRTO II for the Intellivision. I already have the purple Pi on order from Ali Express, but like with the Megacart, I'll wait to order the PCB's until I get back from my holiday. EDIT - Done and works great. I will probably build another 4 carts to sell. I have 2 carts for sale at present
  10. Install ATPL Sidewise ROM/RAM board into my 2nd BBC B. Board is on the way from eBay
  11. Install 1770 based FDD into my 2nd BBC B. Board is on the way from eBay
I need to strip out what's done and consolidate into a new list, so here goes:
  1. Build my Cosmac Elf replica. It's a great board as it has a very good silk screen that includes component values, so it's essentially it's own BoM, and I think this may be next after the MK14. My build box is coming along nicely, I have all the sockets and a lot of the other parts, so this is still looking positive.I just need to start...
  2. Properly look at my Epson HX20. It seems to have a power issue (It's an oddity, the PSU only charges the battery, it doesn't power the computer) and sometimes comes on, but it's such a unique machine I have to get it going again.
  3. Take another look at the PS4 I have with no HDMI out. I have a donor board to hand that is very dead, so I think it is fixable since it does boot to a white light. Low priority this though as I do have a working PS4.
  5. Finish off the Arche laptop project. this is no as close as I thought. The HDD is working and I can pull the CF card at any time to install more software if I want. The FDD side of things is frustrating, but not the end of the world, and that leaves the display and keyboard ribbon that are not major issues. This may be dead in the water, I need to have a proper review to see if its going to be worth the effort
  6. Finish repairs to the TI TravelMate 4000 WinSX I got from @mrbombermillzy. Overall in GWO, it needs a new backlight for the screen as the tube is nadgered. It also needs a PSU building or buying.
  7. Build the Acorn Atom replica from @PhilC
  8. Finish building my H4 and H5s. Maybe even start building them...
  9. I have a Texas Instruments TI-51-III Programmable Scientific Calculator incoming that needs repair, but I don't have it just yet.
I think that's it for now, though I'm sure I may think of other things along the way, in which case I'll update.
Unless I get distracted, some of these may just happen in late 2025 early 2026. Fingers crossed :)

Nice.

Mine is
  • Recap Falcon030 #1 PSU (using kit bought from Exxos @ CL2)
  • Fit CT60e + Centurion CT60PSU (2025) in Falcon030 #2 (I bought my CT60e in the first batch gotta be 2017 or earlier? Never been used)
  • Fit 4MB RAM board to 520 ST shorty (using kit bought from Exxos @ CL2)
  • Fit TOS 1.04 to 520 ST shorty (bought from Exxos @ CL2)
  • Fit RGBTOHDMI with Audio to 520 ST shorty, route the mini HDMI cable to where the TV modulator would have been. I bought the kit BEFORE CL2.
  • Fit ATW800/2 into MegaST - Waiting for new USB-C PSU from SideCartridge
  • Build GreaseWeazle v4. I bought a metal enclosure designed to look just like external slimline FDDs of the time, it looks great but the Sony 1.44MB NoS FDD that I bought off eBay came with a silver bezel and the OCD in me needs a cream one
  • Convert my NTSC Nuon Samsung DVD-N501 into a PAL Nuon Samsung DVD-N504 using parts from Samsung M105. It's never been done but has been speculated about for years. People have used just the drive before but never the whole PSU/modulator board and steels.
  • Build Drawbridge. All the parts are here, have been for at least 1.5 years but I've just not made the time.
  • Upgrade Acorn Archimedes A310 8MHz ARM2, 1MB, RISCOS2 to 33MHz ARM3, 4MB, RISCOS3.11, 16-bit IDE podule
  • Repair Acorn Archimedes A5000 Alpha. It has mild->medium battery damage. It will need the CMOS rebuilding, IDE and FDC connectors removing. More neutralisation (It's gone green again even after it was "cleaned" with white vinagar and rinsed with deionised water and IPA).
  • Repair Acorn Archimedes A540, very rare machine bought "cheap" in 2025 with catastrophic battery leak, can it be saved? Or at least stabilised so it doesn't get worse. Probably beyond my capabilities but you never know.
  • Repair Acorn RISC PC. I've got 5 of them. All have battery damage. All do not boot. Surely one can be saved? Upgrade RAM to max, fit all the parts I have : RISCOS 4.39, Strong ARM 233MHz, 2MB VRAM, 256MB RAM, SSD.
  • Countless other things.

Which ones did you finish? I very rarely finish any of my tasks. I get bored or sidetracked before they are finished. Usually end up loosing screws etc. that I painstakingly labelled in bags but failed to attach them to the disassembled "wreckage".

If you look at the original list for 2024/2025 what isn't on the 2025/2026 list actually got finished :)

So stuff like the OSI 610, the SoC MK14 cassette interface, the Colecovison and Intellivision stuff, and the Sidewise board and FDD board for the BBC. They all got finished. There were also projects that slipped through the cracks and just didn't appear on the list.

I mean PiStorm really wasn't on the list, neither was my Famicom, they just happened along the way, got starte and got finished.

I do have some 'wreckage' but it's mostly stuff that's hit a roadblock for one reason or another, like the HX-20 where documentation is super limited.
