Haven't you tried it yourself? I want to see picture of it soldered to the motherboard.

What's the advantage of having this? I realise it means you can have the 1MB version of EmuTOS? What does that 1MB variant bring over the 512kb version that makes it worth it?

Re: New Romy Falcon (1MB rom adapter)
I was wondering why as well but started digging.
I guess the question is why you would want to run a 1mbit ROM on a Falcon. This would focus specifically on EmuTOS 1mbit version and what this offers over the 512kb version and then what EmuTOS offers over standard TOS 4.04, especially in 1mbit version of EmuTOS.

I went to: https://emutos.github.io/manual/#available-archives
It says: "One megabyte multilingual ROM image. As Atari does not support 1 MB images, this is for Hatari."
So if that's just making it multilingual... I really don't understand why you'd want this? Please someone correct me if I'm missing the point, thanks.

I don't have a Falcon, need someone to try for the community !DoG wrote: 16 Nov 2025 16:54 Haven't you tried it yourself? I want to see picture of it soldered to the motherboard.
Simply because 1MB is better than 512KB : you can put more stuff into... And the Rom access is faster than HD loading, so it's better to have all in rom than a 1MB rom file on HD...I guess the question is why you would want to run a 1mbit ROM on a Falcon. If anybody here have an unused Falcon in the attic, you can send it to me (I pay shipping) for trying my adapter, I have two big coconuts in the pant, me !
