New project: Commodore Colt

Post by coonsgm »

As an old computer collector addict, I'm paraphrasing a message from one of my best "dealers".

"Hey bub, wanna buy a Commodore Colt? It's a Commodore PC, right. I'll even throw in an Atari ST....."

Well maybe he didn't say it that way, but that's how I heard it.

Preliminary testing shows about 18 ohms between the 5v line and ground. While there is some battery damage, I've beeped out all the traces in the damaged area and they seem good (at least for now). My first guess is a tantalum that has failed open maybe? Anyone else worked on a Colt that has some ideas?

Anyway, I expect this will be a longer-term project. Looks good though and even came with the original keyboard and some documentation.

I don't think that would have been sold outside the USA I imagine. It doesn't really fit Commodore Germany's style.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.
