Happy 8th Birthday to the Exxos Forum!

Post by exxos »

I can't believe it's been eight years since we kicked off this journey in 2017! From a small group of retro enthusiasts tinkering with Atari STs and Amigas, we've grown into an incredible community that keeps classic computing alive. I'm beyond grateful to every one of you for your passion, ideas, and relentless drive to make this forum a success. Your posts, projects, and camaraderie have turned this place into a true home for retro lovers, and I'm thrilled to celebrate this milestone with you all!

The projects coming out of this community are nothing short of amazing. From hardware remakes to innovative upgrades, you're all pushing the boundaries of what retro hardware can do. A huge shoutout to everyone working on hardware projects, from motherboard rebuilds like the Raven 060 to booster cards for the Atari Falcon and board remakes like the Phoenix; the list of incredible contributions is too vast to name everyone, but your collective efforts keep the Atari spirit alive and thriving.

A special nod to Badwolf for his fantastic YouTube videos showcasing Falcon booster progress (check out Badwolf's channel for some serious retro goodness!). Also, big thanks to coonsmg for their awesome Power of Vintage YouTube channel, bringing our community's passion to life with engaging retro content. Check out their videos for some serious nostalgia!

The forum is alive with all sorts of creative endeavors, from hardware upgrades and custom builds to software tweaks and game discussions. Members are constantly sharing their latest experiments, whether it's breathing new life into old machines or swapping tips in the Game Zone. Your diverse talents and enthusiasm keep this community vibrant and inspiring, showing the world what retro computing is all about.

I owe a huge shoutout to our administrators and global moderators for keeping the forum running like a well-oiled machine. Your tireless work handling posts, guiding discussions, and maintaining the vibe is invaluable. You make sure everyone feels welcome and supported, and I can't thank you enough for that.

I also want to give a massive shoutout to PhilC and mrbombermillzy for organizing fantastic retro events that bring our community together in person. Their hard work in putting together these gatherings, filled with retro gaming, vendor booths, and pure nostalgia, creates unforgettable experiences for us all. These events showcase the passion and spirit of our forum, letting us celebrate our love for classic tech face-to-face, and I'm so grateful for their efforts in making these moments happen!

To all the users on the forum, your active participation, whether through posting questions, sharing solutions, or just joining in the fun, is what keeps this community alive; thank you for making this place so special!

To our sponsors, your generous contributions toward the running costs of the server and related services keep this community thriving, and I'm deeply grateful for your support.

A special thank you to everyone who updates the wiki, ensuring it remains a brilliant, up-to-date, and factual resource for all of us; your efforts make a huge difference.

And to everyone who's purchased items from the store, your support directly fuels progress and future hardware developments, pushing our retro dreams forward!

What makes this forum special is you, the members who share knowledge, crack jokes, and celebrate every successful boot-up. You're not just preserving retro tech; you're building a legacy for future enthusiasts.

Here's to more years of epic projects, late-night soldering sessions, and the joy of bringing old machines back to life. Happy 8th birthday, Exxos Forum, let's keep the retro magic going!

Cheers,
Exxos
