Realtek RTL8019 chips in disguise.

Just a very quick post that might help someone out at some point.

There are a number of old ISA network cards which are listed as NE2000 compatible cards which are actually RTL8018AS chips in disguise.

The MPX & UK chips below identify as RTL chips when looking at their function with a debugger.

I'm actually looking to see how to turn these cards in to jumpers cards at 300h & IRQ10 to make the ST and Raven compatible.

I've been working on both cards on and off and can confirm that they are both dem rebranded RTL8019AS chips.

In both cases it is possible to force the cards into IRQ10 & 300h IO address. Because these cards are essentially set up as PNP without jumpers I have done the following to them.

Lifted pin 64, 65, 66 & 80.
Tied pins 64 & 66 to ground. A good place is pin 5of the 93C46 chip.
Tied pin 65 and 80 to +5V. Again a good place is the 93C46 chip, this time pin 8.

64 is AUI is MAU select and needs to be grounded
65 is JP Jumper enable pin
66 is PNP enable pin, tied low to disable PNP
80 is the IRQ10 select pin.

On a Raven you can start up Mon.Tos and check that the card is at the correct address SD per the photo below. Or if using an ST with a suitable monitor program at $FED00300

The Pp in bytes 0Ah & 0Bh are the RTL8019AS chip ID.
