FOR FREE: Ethernec

Post by mikro »

For anyone interested, I have found this true oldskool hardware - the original Ethernec. It comes in a black box (it's disassembled on the picture), as far as ID'ing the card in FreeMiNT it works but for some reason it shows MAC address of 00:00:00:00:00:00 and I wasn't able to change it.

I'd be very interested to see the schematics for the ISA adapter involved... I'm pretty sure I have at least one network card like that somewhere so having the means to connect it up to an ST when required would be really handy!

@JezC IIRC schematics, gerber files and everything is part of the driver package from Thomas Redelberger.

Check my website. Not the schematic but gerber is available. I have a remake of these adapters I made for the Micro ATX Atari.

I also made the cartridge port adapter with the 40 pin header for an original ST. I did not test this yet but know that the one for the Micro ATX ISA adapter works.

Thanks @kodak80 I'll have a look at those and see when I can afford to order the bits (probably after I find the network adaptor)

That's your website?! I actually sent the gerbers for the ISA cart to production today hoping to get a cartridge port on the Raven!

Once you have confirmed it's working, would you mind sharing the details of who you used to build the PCBs?

I've not ordered any PCBs directly yet, so don't want to muck up if I can help it...so having a 'safe' first order would be a huge help...

No rush, I'm busy fighting floppy issues on several of my remake boards at the moment....
