i wonder if anyone has come across this
my gotek worked the screen worked then suddenly it stopped showing ?
i tried a new screen rebooting and sometimes it works after some messing then it stopped and now it wont work even after messing with it (pulling the dupont connectors and plugging them back in
im wondering if i need to reflash it or something as the firmware may have some how been corrupted ?
any help would be great
please feel free to talk to me like an an idiot about it , simple is best for me :-)

Re: gotek problems
Do you have flashfloppy on it? In that case there should be a FF.CFG on it. https://github.com/keirf/flashfloppy/wi ... ation-File
Just stop working after a while seems strange. Bad connections or bad solder joint otherwise I don't know.

Re: gotek problems
By screen do you mean the Gotek screen or the ST screen? I'm assuming Gotek. I presume you mean the 3 digit LED display? Or do you have an OLED screen.
What jumpers are you using? You only need S0 to be jumped for ST usage.
Before you go too far, do the basics such as checking power is getting to the Gotek as expected. It should need only 5v, but I have seen issues with frayed ST FDD power cables before causing problems.
Does a normal FDD work with the ST?

I think I had this problem before, the OLED display 'froze/crashed'. I messaged the seller and they told me how to reset the OLED, but sorry I can't remember how.

Re: gotek problems
Wasn't it keeping one of the buttons pressed during bootup or after bootup and for a long time?
It was due to a bad Oled controller on the Oled itself..
Found it:

Re: gotek problems
thanks for all the advice
here is what i'm going to do before getting back to you all
1 - check the PSU , its dawned on me that since i have had this unit (about two years ) i never considered refurbishing the PSU this is something i should have done i feel but of course like any kid at Christmas its straight to playing with it
i am either going to refurb or (looking at exxos shop ) replace it with an upgrade
THEN if when powered up it still fails go back to my original plan as the faff with this is much less then doing the PSU plus if it did work i would STILL leave a potentially bad PSU and damage my unit
so thanks for the advice
and i will keep you posted
