Hi, Switched my Amiga on a few days ago and got an error from psf3 about bad blocks or something (sorry cannot remember exact error).
To cut a long story short, I decided to start from scratch and booted into HD toolbox, this reported the following;
INTERFACE ADDRESS LUN STATUS
SCSI 0 0 Unknown
SCSI 1 0 Unknown
i can identify both drives (although I only have a single drive installed), using the change drive type feature, and they are identified correctly
as Samsung HM160JC.
However if I partition them, and save changes then no changes are saved and I'm back to square one with two Unknown drives.
I have tested with two other spare drives I have and they too show up double.
I have also tested with a fresh HD TOOLBOX copy.
Has anyone had this type of fault before? any help is appreciated, thanks.
Gary

You should provide a bit more information. Is this on a 536? Is your 536 buffered? If it is not, it is possible that you are using a cable that is too long. Also, it is possible that your HDD just died.

Hi, sorry yes its a TF536 and its buffered.
Have tried with 3 different drives.
The cable is 30cm long.
Hope this helps.

Fixed it, it was a broken trace between pin 14 of IC6 and pin 36 of the IDE connector.
