TLDR : I am looking for a DMA Chip for a MegaSTE the C398789-001 however the Mega uses a 44pin QFN (PLCC) IC soldered to the main board not the 40 pin dip as suggested on eBay.
Not TLDR : lol
I realise that these are going to be super rare I've been having a bit of a mission trying to get a MegaSTE up and going. I purchased one that after a short time blew up blowing the PSU and leaving the Mainboard with a 5v to 0v short some where (also I noticed when I was looking at it that the main board was physically damaged by the ram it originally had 2MB in the damage might be why). Anyway I managed to find another motherboard on eBay with a PSU it arrived but real life intervened and I had to shelve the project without even opening the package. When I came back it and opened it that motherboard also has been physically damaged and it was missing the drive controller. Looking for parts I found a Mega at an OK price so I bought that one which seemed OK initially but it had instability around hard disk access. Thinking it was the drive I purchased a BlueSCSI/HDDriver turns out its not the drive
By the time I'm finished one machine will of had a new mobo/psu, TOS 2.06UK new controller card, new rtc battery, (maybe a BlueSCSI as I bought 2 it will keep its original drive for now) cleaned up with new leds as they both have a lot of rust on them. The second one will have had a BlueSCSI + HDDRiver and new CPU, recapped PSU, new RTC Battery, TOS 2.06UK and again the same clean up and if I can find one a replacement DMA.
To top it both my SC1224 and SC1435 failed within the last two weeks. Can anyone recommend anyone that's good at fixing monitors? I have a transformer for the SC1224 and am looking for the same for the 1435. I did buy a DELL P2214HB that works perfectly in low, med and high res (you can change the aspect ratio if you want or have it widescreen both are usable) you can get them on ebay atm at £30-50 for anyone wanting a monitor (they are VGA and I'm using one of those little ST to VGA adapters with the switch on £12.99 on eBay.
Thanks Sorry for the ESSAY
