Nedis video doorbell WIFICDP20GY

Post by peters »

I don't know what sort of forum could help me with this question so I thought it worth starting here.

My Nedis video doorbell stopped working when I started charging it.

It won't do anything. It won't enter pairing mode and and the only sign of life is the red LED when I try to charge it. The batteries are charged. When I hold down the button to enter pairing nothing happens.

So I opened it up.

There are 2 PCBs. One has the usb socket and camera and the second has the bell push and PIR motion detector.

On the second PCB an SMD component labelled U1 looks to have blown. When I scrape it, dust comes off.

It has 5 pins arranged 3 and 2 but most of the id numbers have gone, I can only see 3***93.

It's close to a component on the back of PCB marked RT1. That is the only component on the back.

Nedis customer support doesn't exist.

Is it possible to work out what it is ?

Have you tried to see if there are other photos of the doorbell PCB on Google?
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

According to your picture, U1 really looks to have blown.

Looks like U1 is some sort of Mosfet, are there any other similar components on the board that have the same package and have a similar part number? Might be a clue.

Other than that, you might struggle without the schematics to tell you what the part is.

BTW I edited your post so the picture is in line rather than an attachment as per forum guidelines.

Sorry, not sure how to do inline.

There is nothing similar on the board but I will check the main board as well.

Top right by the screw looks similar.

To place inline simply place the cursor where you want the image to be in the text field and then in the attachments tab, click on the place inline button:
