Unknown Falcon clock patch/booster

Post by foft »

Hi,

Does anyone recognise this clock patch please? Its got an intermittent fault, notably the cpu clock output (yellow wire) is sometimes missing. Was just wondering what it is to know if its worth fixing or not. It looks rather iffy to me so I'm tempted not to fix it, unless its something of interest.

It just has a 555 and a PAL16v8.

Yes, it does look like some kind of fusion of a clock patch and the Power Up 2 CPU booster, I have never seen anything like that. I would presume it feeds 32 MHz there but I'm not sure whether the components present there are capable of that?

For me the boosters look like this: one Skunk 32 MHZ CPU+FPU and one PowerUp 32MHZ CPU only. FPU runs at standard clock speed.

Many thanks. I’ve been looking up the powerup following these posts and it does indeed look close.
