ASCI2STM and firmware note.

Post by Yippee »

The ASCISTM device is amazingly inexpensive and works perfectly with my UK ATARI STe upgraded to 4mb. Being compact it leaves all the other Atari ports free for use, which means I can use my centronincs port to print to my modern HP ENVY wi-fi printer via my RetroPrinter.com device, with all the character and style codes faithfully reproduced. I had one strange issue on intial set up, which was that the Desktop.inf file would save corrputed after a change desktop prefences action. (It was the only file that ever corrupted) I was running version 5.0a firmware, reflashing with 5.0 resolved the issue. GemDrive works very well on my ASCISTM device, but I am going to buy PP's driver because I use PP's hard disk converted programs and I beleive he deserves support for all the amazing things he has done for the Atari ST platforms over the years. Also I like tinkering! :-)
