Atari stM not booting up

Hi I'm new to atari st I just been given an old atari st m.
The old one with external psu and disk drive.
It seems to load games fine. But when there is no disk is inserted in the drive. It boots to 8 bombs. I've looked it up apparently it's a Privilege Violation but unfortunately I don't understand what that means.can anyone point me in the right direction to what the fault might be.

It's possible you have one without TOS ROMS, and you were supposed to boot TOS from disk, but I'm sure it also had a boot screen of some sort. Might be worth taking a pic of the ROMs that are installed.
