Rainbow TOS question?

This might seem a bit odd but on Facebook we had someone ask about what
TOS version they had.

The picture they uploaded was "rainbow" TOS.

I thought, maybe mistakenly, that the only version of TOS that showed the
rainbow animation was TOS v1.4 (1.04).

The machine they were using is an STe. I thought TOS v1.6/1.62 was on
those machines from the factory.

I had an STe when they first came out, with TOS v1.62. I really, sincerely,
don't remember the rainbow animation on it from the "About" drop-down
menu.

So have I just forgotten that it did? I also seem to remember being a bit
disappointed that it didn't have the rainbow animation because I thought
that was pretty cool.

Try Hatari witrh TOS 1.62 ...

TOS 1.6x is a modification of 1.04 (which was originally called 1.4) for the new hardware on the STE, so it has the rainbow as well.

I guess it's where I've been using TOS v2.xx and above for so long
that I just forgot.

I only had the STe for a while and that was years and years ago.
