I need to do some tweaks to the webstore.
First update today will be to tweak the database so I can "Sort and group" similar items in the list under each section. At the moment items are listed per stock code number. Generally it groups similar items together which basically works fine initially, but when I need to add more similar items or options the same kit, they appear further down the list and people may not be aware actually sell variations etc. overall people may not actually notice these changes when they are completed.
This should be a easy update to do, but just as a forewarning, that if something goes mental over the next day or two then please let me know.. I'm going to try and do this without taking my web store off-line in order to save a lot of messing about..
There is another large update I need to do, as the shopping basket actually stores every item in my store with the quantity for each item. This creates a very long string to saving the cookie, and from what I understand the cookie has limitations to how long string can be. It also seems some browsers can work with longer strings than others. I'm not really sure at what point this will break my web store as I am normally adding a couple of different items each month. This will be a bit trickier my web store will likely have to be off-line for a few days why do the changes to all the scripts. This Isn't likely to get done for a few months yet anyway..
I will post here when changes are about to happen and actually get finished anyway..
EDIT:
The store has now been patched and seems to be working fine still. Now similar items will be grouped together under each section. I have also made some images smaller as they are not really needed to be larger in a lot of cases.
You will not be able to post if you are still using Microsoft email addresses such as Hotmail etc

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Re: webstore updates
I'm going to be working on the store today doing some small changes... Mostly adding in a ban list for idiots who are to lazy to pickup their package from the post office, then blame me or open a dispute because they have no had their package!

Re: webstore updates
FYI, in Sweden there are severe issues with the local postal company (PostNord). People aren't getting any notices that they have packages waiting and the postal company insists they should've gotten them.exxos wrote: 28 Jun 2018 09:41 I'm going to be working on the store today doing some small changes... Re: webstore updates
Thanks.. Yeah postal companies don't always leave notices, though I do send out tracking emails each order, true could end up in people's spam box, but I try and point this out as well on checkout.. people don't bother to look half the time :roll:troed wrote: 28 Jun 2018 10:38 FYI, in Sweden there are severe issues with the local postal company (PostNord). You would think after a couple of weeks of package not turning up they would go looking for a tracking email, or email me asking for tracking again, but some don't. First I know about it is a load of abuse, which I can understand to a point, but just no need for it. There is only so much I can do my end.
If people are civil about it, fair enough, but when they are not, I would just rather ban people from ordering again. Maybe some bad ethics on my part there, but I would rather lose the odd sale then lose endless hours in disputes with people who just don't even bother to check the statues of packages then blame me when it doesn't arrive.
I'm only talking extreme cases here, like the guy whos opened up a stripe dispute without even contacting me or giving me any reason for the dispute. Tracking clearly shows package waiting at post office, he needs to collect it.. and he even booked a redelivery and wasn't home then either. but nope.. dispute all the way. So such people will just get banned. Can't help but feel there is a new "con" in the making there.. Will see if I get my £160 + charges back or the goods, but so far stood out of £355 worth of stuff with this one dispute. So sure, people like that will be banned.
