New DIY PSU PCB beta now in stock

This project was started a few years ago but finally got the beta PCBs made and they are now in the store. These are PCB only "with birdseed". You will need to source the MW PSU modules from a reputable supplier.
These PCBs have a additional mains filter to give the modules additional protection. They also have a output ripple filter which reduces the module ripple and noise from 150mV to about 30mV. That's 0.030V ! So they pretty damn good. Not as good as my other PSUs ;) but not too shabby at all for a low cost PSU.
Ultimately these will likely take over from my normal PSUs as I don't plan on making them anymore after current stocks have run out.

That looks really good - where did you get your supplies from? Hoping to avoid any dodgy ones if possible...
And would it only need the 5V if it were to be used with an H4/H5 board? :D

I got mine from RS. I did not really spend any time looking for the cheapest prices on them though.JezC wrote: 17 Apr 2024 21:51 That looks really good - where did you get your supplies from? Hoping to avoid any dodgy ones if possible...

I know Mouser sell them, but there seems to be some really weird shipping restrictions on them
Yep. As long as you don't need 12V on the scart. And would it only need the 5V if it were to be used with an H4/H5 board? :D
However I have a new batch of boards in production (not many) But they have the 5V to 12V step up inverter on them. It will certainly be enough for a STF type machines. I'm not sure how much current the STE needs on the 12V. I think the modules can drive up to 250mA (yeah right) It might be enough for the STE.. but anyway.. That's a problem for another day. Is not like the 12V ones are massively expensive to start with. But like you say, the H4/H5 doesn't really need the 12V at all.
