All information is slowing being ported from AMN over to this section for preservation.

Planned closure of AMN forum and group

Post by exxos »

As previously mentioned back in this old thread viewtopic.php?f=34&t=806 there does not seem to be any interest in preserving any of this content. I have ported a lot of articles and rescued a lot of the content which is already freely downloadable on this forum. I have done a lot over the past few years when I rescued the content from Malcolm. Though I just think it is time to move on now and say goodbye to this stuff.

The AMN domain name got stolen some years ago and the website just got constantly hacked to where I had to take it off-line permanently. I don't think anyone even noticed it was gone. It didn't really serve a purpose any more anyway. I think it pretty much died around 2012.

Though in looking at the activity on the Facebook group which I took over several years ago, there really does not seem to be any point in keeping that running any longer either.

So I am suggesting people move over to Atari ST musicians network instead as it has more members and is more active.

I suspect a lot of people are already on that group anyway.

Furthermore, the old AMN forum which I recovered and hosted here https://exxosforum.co.uk/AMN pretty much never gets any hits. There is some probably snippets of good information on there or some files etc. Though I am also planning on not maintaining that form any longer. It has not been updated for some time and could may well have security implications by now. You just not worth spending the time when updating a second forum when nobody ever visits it anyway.

So if anyone wants to take a copy of the forum/sites etc, then by all means do so. I don't have a planned closure date date yet. Maybe over the next few months.

Fair enough.
I noted that a recent version has been stored in Wayback Machine:

I didn't check it extensively but seemed to work.
