What are you bringing to Cyber Legends 3?

Post by PhilC »

Morning All,

Just a quick post to see what you are planning on bringing along to Cyber Legends 3?

Whilst @mrbombermillzy works hard in the background sorting out locations, I thought I might, with your help, come up with a theme once again. I know I've mentioned before a possible theme of "The unusual suspect."And wondered what you all thought about this.

I have a few more rare computers but know you guys have some right gems in your collection and wondered if you'd like to bring them along?

I typically bring too much stuff with me, some to sell and some to show off. This year I could bring a Mac Classic or LC475, A Sharp PC7200 or my Memotech MTX512 amongst other things.

What would you bring?

I can't say if I am going or not yet. Though the previous one I took my 2600 to try and see what all games were in my box, but never seemed to get around to trying any of them   So I am not sure I would bother again. It was useful for the compo thing though. I could being it again.. just not sure if it's really worth it.

If anything I would just bring random stuff to sell I think. I have a couple of mono monitors in the loft I need to test and get rid of for starters. Though I don't think I be loading the van up full of stuff as I ended up taking half of it back again. So maybe only take stuff if someone is committed to buying the stuff this time.

There could be the odd new upgrade I may demo. But really depends how far I get with them before the event. Time rockets by... So if the event is later in the year, then gives me more time.

@PhilC Unusual suspects sounds good. Im all up for seeing the rarer kit. :)

Im planning on having far more time socialising and looking at the display machines this year and am still gutted about not really having a good look around at the machines from CL1 (including Stephen Ushers Memotech), so yeah, by all means bring the MTX512 along.

Well, so far it looks like the show will be taking place in September, so you may get your wish.

Oh and thanks for bumping the poll :D Only six more days until the results are finalized.

I didn't get to see a lot oddly last time. I took some images towards the end when there was more space to see stuff, but not much past that. It's why I ended-up voting @Steve's ST as the best and worst machine in the competition as I think it was the only one I had chance to look at  #NotVeryHelpful

Well, if things stay at a tie and unless people pipe up about not being able to make one day or the other (which I may give preferential treatment for in the decision), then it'll probably be a case of tossing a coin.

 it's possible everyone clicked both options though? As it don't care either way.

In which case, a decision *must* be made, so I will literally toss a coin, if no one else has any complaints. :)

I've been playing Baldurs Gate 3 lately, so as long as it's not another 20 sided dice I don't care.

Whatever anyone would like to see / have a play with.

Here are a few of the items I've acquired since the last show
  • Acorn Archimedes A310 one of the first Archimedes ever sold. Only had it just over a week.
  • Sam Coupe (think Sinclair Spectrum on steroids) I have literally just picked it up today.
  • Amiga A1200 + Pistorm32 CM4 (~2800MIPS Amiga).
  • Atari 260 ST NOS (Not sure it was ever used, it's even got that "new" smell).

If I hadn't had my car crash on the way I would have taken a good chunk I'm sure.

I'd really like a SC1224 if you have one for sale?

Original manuals / disks that would have come with Atari STfm or Atari STe? Owners manual, Discovery pack manuals. Discovery pack discs etc.

I'm also looking for original Atari boxes. Box for a Mega ST? Box & manual for STM1 (mouse)?
