timing off running Starstruck Final release demo (2018-04-11)

I'm running Alpha firmware, full 060 and 1200's rock stable so just wondering if other TF1260 owners have this issue as well and if there's a way to fix it

@erique Does your TF1260 have timing issues on Starstruck? i've never noticed issues on that demo.

Looks equivalent to UAE to me.

The section with the chick on the robot arm inside the turbine has some rough looking graphical text synchronisation with the music. But this seems intentional ?

Runs identically with no obvious timing issues under:

tf1260r1_2023_05_19_a47c463_68090_IT4
and
tf1260r1_2021_12_17_1742_4514ac9_alpha

Using the same 1200 hardware listed above. The 1200 motherboard is stock with the exception of a recap and a replaced line filter, no timing/stability fixes applied. PSU is C= original 3.0A @5V "heavy type".

thanks for checking Graphically wise mine is fine but near the end when the robot is smashing the names at the bottom of the screen please check if the music is in time with the actual smashing of each name...on my CS-MKIII-060@50 there's no issue here but on my TF1260 it's off by quite a but.

I’m running OS3.2.2.1 with 3.2 roms, 060 is Rev6@50, MB is 1D1

I never noticed this myself however i wouldn't make a fw change for this unless it was tied to a specific thing that could be tied down.

TF card is faster at chipram writes than the CS is all i can think of.

Is the music synced with the text smashing or is it playing a sample on a separate channel each "smash" ? It looks/sounds synchronised here. From what I can tell the "smashing" sample starts exactly as the robot hammer impacts the screen/name text. That happens alongside the ambient mechanical rumble of the robot.

Perhaps it is just the mismatch between speed of sound / speed of light

I don't really have enough experience with this demo to tell what it should be doing. Nothing seems obviously out of whack on this setup to my untrained eye.

Does it make any difference if the Amiga is running in PAL or NTSC modes? Forgive my ignorance to Amiga specifics.

i pinged erique about this as he is a TF dev and he did the timing for Starstruck but he's a bit busy with real life right now.

This is a good point as my 1D1 is NTSC and I switch it PAL at early startup when needed...will try again when back home making sure I'm in PAL
