C-Lab Combiner reverse-engineering in progress

Post by tOriman »

Hi,

I would like to inform that the schematic of this cartridge switch has been reverse-engineered. The firmware from the protected Altera EP600 chip has also been read and checked. It remains for me to build a working clone based on the restored schematic. When I finish the work - I will post the documentation on www and give info on the forums.

Greetings

Hi,

Reverse-engineering of the C-Lab Combiner has been completed. I built a clone that behaves identically to the original :) Unfortunately - due to the fact that I didn't have more slots for Atari in 2mm size - I soldered only slot3 position.

In a while a set of documents will appear on my www.

Wow! Very impressive indeed! :)

I see you also cloned the Emagic LOG3 on your website.
Do they both work without problems in both Logic and Notator (latest version only)?

Hi,

These are clones so should work seamlessly with both Notator and Logic. I tried LOG3 with Logic and latest Notator it was OK.

Excellent! Great work
It's impressive all the remake boards you've made! You're literally giving these hardware add-ons a new life.

The Eagle files work fine here, but there was no PCB board layout file as far as I could see (only Eagle schematics) -can you upload these as well (for both the Combiner and LOG3)?

Pretty sure the Gerber’s are there on t0ri’s site. I copied his link from the combiner page:
