CT60e - memtester?

Post by ube »

I’m having some strange errors with my CT60e. Silkcut can launch under Mint, but not under TOS4.04. So I’m suspecting some kind of memory error.

So… Is there some memtester for the extended memory?

So, that's a negative.. Are Falcons usually in need of a recap. I guess I can do one since I still got the motherboard out of it's case.

In what way was it a negative?

In a good way, no errors from YAARTTT after running for ~16 hours. So the memory seems ok.

But still, I can't grasp why Silkcut runs in Mint and not TOS..

Does the clock patch on main falcon board have any effect on the CT60e when running in 060 with extended memory?

Below is the exception thrown when trying to start Silkcut in TOS.

@mikro, any ideas if it’s CT60e or the machine itself that needs some love?

Line-F Exception vector
Exception vector 11: An attempt was made to execute an instruction that contained the value '$F' in the top four bits. It is used up to TOS 1.04 by GEM, and is intended actually for the programmming of a floating point unit (FPU).

OF EFFING COURSE!

I had switched FPU off in CT60 settings.

Silkcut now starts in TOS as well.
