I have the following setup:
* atari ste 520 with 4Mb memory and TOS 2.06
* sd4st as hard drive with PP driver
* NVDI 4 (but same behaviour without)
* NeoDesk 4 (without Geneva)
NeoDesk always crashes when attempting to bring up help dialog from within "About" dialog. It also crashed at other scenarios but could not reproduce it recently. The same source images installed fine in emulator.
It seems to be NeoDesk specific as I could not induce a crash in Cubase.
Any ideas? Something about fonts?

Re: NeoDesk 4 craches in "About" dialog
I get the same but it works fine with GENEVA.
I suspect that it's failing to load the text viewer. Check the NEODESK.INF file and see what prg the TXTREAD variable is pointing to. Ensure it exists
IIRC NEODESK has it's own reader but it uses that which is installed with GENEVA if available.

In NEODESK.INF I had it pointing to QED (which works fine on its own); installing Geneva fixes the problem though ...

Re: NeoDesk 4 craches in "About" dialog
It could be that it can't multitask without Geneva so can't load another app
Maybe it needs a multitasking OS regardless of which viewer you use.
