All overseas shipping delayed

Post by exxos »

Regrettably this is down to the useless idiot now working at my girlfriend's local post office. The guy simply can't do the job and my god it takes him literally half a hour to do a single overseas package. I am not trying to be racist but this guy clearly does not understand English , in particular anything which is actually written down. My girlfriend can't spend all day in the post office and I can't post them as I live 40 miles away.

Use a different post office I hear your cry! Unfortunately things are not that simple. My girlfriend already has to walk a mile each way in the cold and the rain to post all orders currently and she cannot walk further to the next post office over which would be at least another mile each way.

I looked at all the local post offices and the major problem in general is nowhere to park. There is a possible post offices the next town over but it is in between two very busy roundabouts which is why I am reluctant to go there but it is likely the only place I stand any chance of parking outside of.

So my only plan is to go to that post office , but again because I don't live with my girlfriend I could only take her to the post office once a week to post overseas orders. If I cannot park outside that post office then I really don't know what to do but go even further afield to the next town over again. I don't see any alternative to speeding up overseas shipments currently :(

I took my girlfriend to her normal local post office the past three times and already wrote how useless the guy is. The only hope is that the regular post office guy is on holiday and this useless idiot is just the standin replacement. If the original guy has retired then God help us all. I can already see that post office is losing customers because they are constantly walking in and out after about 15 minutes. Hope they get rid of him and get someone better or the original one comes back soon.

UK orders we are still posting at the regular post office as he does not have to type everything in for UK orders. So it is a order of magnitude faster. But still takes much longer to get through them now. It's possible UK orders may also be delayed in the future depending how much time it ultimately takes and how many orders comes in in any particular week.

EDIT:
To make things more clear. Posting will likely be done on Wednesdays. So any orders posted AFTER tuesday night won't be posted until a week later (on Wednesday)

Have you considered the post office collection service. I know it would add a little to postage but they collect from your premises. So far I haven’t had any issue with it but that could be famous last words.

If I remember rightly she would need a printer to print labels out. But she doesn't have room for one. Plus collection is a problem as she's like me, not at home all day. Plus she's basically deaf and doesn't hear them knocking.

Kinda went though it all before. I did trial Hermes by letting dawn pack orders as normal. Then I would bring them home for collection. I arranged a collection date and a week later they still had not been collected. So won't be doing that again. But even if they collected here I can't be in all the time.

The idea of dawn doing the posting is to free up my time but it's going to start eating into it again now. So it's another delay in actually doing stuff I need to get done.Nothing is simple. :(
