Morning all.
A little late as I've been away, but I've put together a quick video showing off my customised PiStorm board for the Atari STE.
This basically replicates the original PiStorm board's layout but with the passive components changed to 0805 to aid hand soldering, the need for a PLCC to DIP adapter removed and the header positioned such that a Pi3A+ or a Pi Zero 2 (or a Pi4 with the ethernet removed) can be fitted within the confines of the closed case.
I'll try to get a proper BOM up as soon as possible and I'll make it avaialble on my PCBWay projects page. That will be an easy option, but not a cheap one, I'm afraid!
Proper PiStorm chat is over here: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=5470
Cheers,
BW

Very nice work, I think one of these needs to go onto the project list. Will it work in an MSTE by any chance?

After some chat in Discord, the general consensus is currently 'dunno'.
It's unlikely to fit with the PSU in, though.

Ahh, ok, slightly annoying, but I do have an STE with a plug in version of exxos 32Mhz booster, so it could go in that.Badwolf wrote: 23 Oct 2023 15:40Thanks!rubber_jonnie wrote: 23 Oct 2023 15:05 Very nice work, I think one of these needs to go onto the project list. It'd be great if you could tell us if it worked, though :)rubber_jonnie wrote: 23 Oct 2023 15:46Ahh, ok, slightly annoying, but I do have an STE with a plug in version of exxos 32Mhz booster, so it could go in that.Badwolf wrote: 23 Oct 2023 15:40 After some chat in Discord, the general consensus is currently 'dunno'.

Re: [Video] PiStormSTE -- case closed?
Hi,
just trying to order the STE PCBs (assembled), using the shared project at PCBway
It is under review for 2 days now...
Does anybody know, how I reduce the number of assembled boards?
I know that I have to order a minimum of 5 PCB, but I think it is possible to reduce the number of assembled boards - but how?
@Badwolf excellent work BTW :-)
regards
Michael

I'm sure there's a field to enter the number of assembled boards you want on the quote form.LarryL wrote: 25 Oct 2023 07:17 Hi,

Failing that, email the assigned PCB Way contact.
When the quote comes back you can also request fewer assembled boards. I did that recently

I did not realize a separate field for the number of assembled units, but I will wait for their feedback on the review
