As usual when I meet up with fellow retro computer enthusiasts as I did on Sunday, we inevitably get on to the subject of wish lists and hardware projects.
This time the responsible forum member is @mrbombermillzy and the subject was turning a C64DTV into a fully fledged computer with keyboard. s-video etc etc.
So sat on my bench now is one C64DTV and a second one is in the post.
These little devices can pretty much be turned into a C64 on steroids, with features like 256 colours and 2MB ram.
I’ll post on here as things progress.

DO NOT USE MOBILE / CGNAT DEVICES WHERE THE IP CHANGES CONSTANTLY!
At this time, it is unfortunately not possible to whitelist users when your IP changes constantly.
You may inadvertently get banned because a previous attack may have used the IP you are now on.
So I suggest people only use fixed IP address devices until I can think of a solution for this problem!

Didn't even know that such a "thing" exist...
Looks interesting though, and seems to have a lot of mods available.

The first thing to do is the colour mod I think, as I've just started it up and ran Paradroid and the colours are a little wishy washy.

Dammit! The laptop power switch board that has the saved files on seems to have given up the ghost. :(
I ordered an external 2.5" SATA enclosure, so hopefully I can move the drive to that. However, ebays estimated delivery is this Friday.
We do have another one in the house, but it will be neck and neck which appears/gets found first, as Ive no idea where it rests.
EDIT: Failing that, I can try to trawl through sites on the internet archive to find the relevant SW.
Im sure CSDB must have a fair amount of it tucked away too.

Re: Modifying a C64DTV or two
I had 2 of these, they both were outputting weirdly a NTSC Composite signal (bought 2nd hand from UK eBay), so only about 2 of my PAL CRT's showed a colour picture. Composite and LCD did not look too good.
I only have 1 unit now, but both of them were the V2 version, which meant from memory they cannot be modded :(
Only thing I did was add a 5V jack for power.
I need to watch the YouTube video of Jenny Elsworth who designed it (I think I got that correct?).
