Facebook feed broken ?

There has always been a joke about clicking on something on Facebook and it taking you off the feed page, then when you click back to feed, that post has completely gone and you never see that post again.

However, for the past few weeks the news feed seems to have been "fixed" where its no longer does that. However there also seems to be very little new content appearing these days as well.

On group pages I sometimes see a lot of posts which I never see in my feed. If I visit Facebook in the morning and night, there is just a couple new posts and that's it. So it's like the newsfeed has simply stopped working.

I wonder if clicking the like button on pages that the algorithm must favor the liked pages but it then completely ignores everything else it seems.

I basically get the same several posts daily where I end up clicking the X to get rid of them. At this point , it seems Facebook has gone back to yet again a disfunctional site where nothing seems to work right anymore. I only go on Facebook while waiting for the kettle to boil etc. So don't use it for anything in particular. But the way it's working now, there's no point in going on there more than once a week else I'm scrolling past the same posts all the time.

Has anyone else seen this "new" behaviour?

Also it seems privacy settings have defaulted to something else. It's rare I can share any post anymore. I've seen it all the time. Where when someone posts something, I can only send it to someone as a private message. If the default behaviour is not being able to share posts then it pretty much cripples the platform in my opinion.

I also think all the time what's the point in Facebook is these days. It was pure chaos and fun in the beginning. It seems to have been slowly stripped down to a place for sharing memes these days. Well, I can't even do that anymore. Other than keeping in touch with a few people I used to work with etc, it actually seems to serve no purpose anymore?
