this is a pretty weird one of sorts.
My girlfriend text me last night on her phone basically on about her favorite film. And today that film coincidentally has shown up on her tablet as a suggested thing..
The thing is, her phone isn't even connected to the internet or even mobile data. It's not like it could even be blamed on cookies or something tracking events.
Remind me years ago when I was on about trying to buy a army tank to drive to work in because of all the people annoying me on the roads. The next day some dubious sounding dude from India or something rang up wanted to know if I wanted to buy anti-terrorist equipment and all sorts of weird stuff. I had actually been googling tank pictures when I got home from work the night before. While I could have been tracked, how would they even have got my number?! They could have been a joke from someone from work but again, nobody had my number, and the call was just literally so weird it did not really sound like something which was set up as a joke.
I was on about tracking technology and such in cars and my girlfriend started waffling on about a murder which was solved because the land rover was tracking the guys movements.
I think it is a little worrying how much we are actually being tracked without even knowing about it these days.

The only thing for it is to ditch the mobile device. But no-one is gonna do that

Re: It's all connected
Could it have been the film popped up on the tablet or another connected device previously (hours, days) which she saw and got stuck in her subconscious which is what made her think of it and eventually send you the txt msg?
Everything is tracked these days. For how long or how accurate is debatable. For example my android phone has tracked me for years (and I don't mind. I enjoy watching the history) but the accuracy is terrible, it only records once every 10 minutes or even longer meaning short journeys are not logged and sometimes the playback is extremely inaccurate.

What you want is an old Alvis armoured car. Much more of a practical daily driver :D

I quite fancy a half track but you just don’t see them around these days.
And for anyone interested in aquatic military vehicles, Google duck tours, London tours on a duck amphibious vehicle. They are even painted yellow.
